Moussaka

Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup diced eggplant
- 1 cup diced potatoes
- 1 cup diced zucchini
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or feta)
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or lamb over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- Add the eggplant, potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the beef mixture, then half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Pour the cream or milk over the top.
- Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Note: You can make it with or without meat.
